Wonderland
By
Kathryn Evans
Wonderland and reality,
For some are as different as night and day.
Yet for some rare few,
They live in the dawn,
Existing in that ethereal light between fantasy and reality.
We are children in our wonderland,
Yet we are not blinded by the light of the world.
Do you envy it that you must mock it?
Did you lose it, or was it never there?
Try to tear me from my wonderland,
Try to rip me from my haven,
Try to ‘save’ me from myself.
You lost the white rabbit, so now I’m not allowed to follow.
Your bubble was popped, so now mine must be destroyed.
Yet in the dawn light I can still see clearly.
I can see your reality better than you see my wonderland.
Which one needs more rescuing?
